How to hide a boiler
Regardless of whether you heat your home with a system or combined gas boiler, you will probably want to build its main tank in the interior of your room. Create a smart cabinet for your boiler with these simple instructions and inexpensive materials.
Step 1: Measure the boiler and provide ventilation
Measure all boiler sizes and add 12 inches for full ventilation clearance over all sides. Measure the two doors in the front that will meet, but do not intersect, and cut them 1/4 inch shorter than the side panels. Cut the plywood sheets to make a freestanding cabinet for these sizes. Saw boards 1 x 2 to the height necessary for the corners. Cut off all allowances for pipes and vents.
Step 2: Cut the ventilation holes in the doors and panels
Use a jigsaw to cut through the 2-inch square or round ventilation holes in the doors and side panels. They should be cut 2 inches from bottom to top and 2 inches on each side. Make a double row at the bottom and top of the door in an attractive geometric design. Cut one row above and below the side and rear panels to provide adequate ventilation for the gas boiler.
Step 3: assemble the cabinet
Around the boiler, fasten the side and rear panels with screws to the 1x2 strips so that all panels are located directly on the sides, top and bottom. Paint the top, and then attach it to the cabinet so that it evenly contacts the front panels. Attach the doors so that they are 1/8 inch below the top and 1/8 inch above the bottom for smooth opening and closing.
Step 4: Paint the wardrobe
Lightly sand the outside of the casing with fine grain sandpaper. Brush off the dust, then apply a primer and paint in your chosen color. Avoid applying any other coatings, such as tiles or wall cupboards, to the cupboard, as the boiler must be fully accessible for repair.
Step 5: for the system boiler
Only the main boiler of the system boiler must be hidden. A water tank will be installed in your dryer anywhere in the house, which will provide you with access to hot water and constant heat anytime you need them.
If you have any questions about creating a hidden cabinet for your boiler, contact your local municipal authority. They can advise you on the assembly and installation of your cabinet to ensure adequate ventilation for the safety of your home.
